We decided to celebrate the New Year in by watching a suggested circus spectacular.  This started out okay, since both girls enjoyed the clown, but quickly deflated once the other performers came on.  It’s just not the same without the atmosphere of being there!
Anabel retreated to Adopt Me on Roblox, Emily flitted between upstairs talking to her friends and downstairs trying to get anabel to do things that her friends would find funny.  At least i got one good photo of the two of them together: Rob got them to say “We hate Daddy” instead of cheese!

Emily was struggling with the idea that 2021 wouldn’t be better than 2020 but i talked with her about how things seemed bleak and we tried to find positives. She thanked me and hugged me so i thought i’d made her feel better, and that night she said, “I love you too” in response to my usual bedtime “I love you” for the first time in i don’t remember how long!
