Emily
Climbing trees with muddy knees,
Building dens with special friends,
Bike rides with the five,
Having adventures, feeling alive.
Coming back and feeling weary,
Sometimes smelly, sometimes teary.
When it gets dark, with squeals of delight,
Rob-hunt starts, they run (in)to the night.
After that it’s back to camp,
with burning sticks and the lamp,
Toasting marshmallows over the fire,
With hot chocolate for those that desire.
Freedom, fearless, happy times,
Muddy, wet and slippery climbs.
Then there were the beach adventures....
Cold beach walks with chattering teeth,
Long reach balks, with disbelief
Warm beach days with splattering seas,
Barefeet and screaming with glee,
Swinging, swimming and mucking around,
Sorrow, sadness, unhappiness, down
Many emotions that are not wrong,
thoughtful, kind, caring and strong.
Subtle, wavering flickering doubts of confusion
You managed to hide with an illusion
Too many memories, too little time
To express our sorrow, it’s too big a climb
Emily, you are a truly, special angel that’s passed,
Never be forgotten and our memories will last.
Love always
Hazel, Gary, Cameron, Imogen, Anthony, Isaac, Francis and Ava-May.
