Today my thoughts are with you all at such a sad time. I had the privilege of teaching Emily Art this year; she was a wonderful student. I found her to be a sensitive, creative and skilful artist. Her work was personal, expressive, beautifully produces and showed how deeply she thought and felt things. She really, really cared about others. Whenever I spoke to Emily I found her an intelligent, and interesting young woman. She was true artist, individual, quirky and creative. It has been a pleasure to teach her and I will miss her in my lessons The ceremony today was such a celebration of all Emily was, her personality and her presence. Like everyone I will continue to think of Emily with a smile.
